Sing Like
A Unicorn
Sing Like A Unicorn is a sweet and magical tale that follows one child's journey — guided by a long-maned and rather fluffy unicorn — to find a voice unlike anything the world has heard before.
Written by award-winning New Zealand singer and songwriter Jeremy Redmore, it's a book that aims to encourage children, aged 2-7, to find their authentic selves via the joy of singing.

Beginnings
This book was my first foray into picture book illustration.
Jeremy messaged me one day and asked if I’d like to illustrate his story, I thought “Why not?” I’d been dabbling in digital illustration for a few years in my free time and thought a solid project would be a good challenge.

Weekend Work
It took me around 2 years to finish this book, as I only had time on weekends to work on it due to also having my full-time UX/UI job.
It was quite the learning experience, from understanding the dimensions and page count of a picture book to all of the printing requirements.

Self-Publishing Journey
Jeremy and I ended up self-publishing this book ourselves. The most intimidating part was figuring out where and how to get it printed. We ended up using someone here in New Zealand who represented a printing company in China.
There’s a song & music video too?!
With Jeremy being a musician, the project wouldn’t have been complete without a song and a music video.
The video is a hybrid of stop motion using assets from the book as background elements and was animated by Awkward Animations. To top it off it ended up winning Best Music Video at the 2023 Best Music Award at the NZ Children's Music Awards.
